The Spazio Eventi Manganer is a new exhibition space available for rent, that aims to give artists and art galleries a chance to exhibit, sell artwoks and promote themselves in the dynamic artistic context of Venice.

The exhibition space Spazio Eventi Manganer is situated in the heart of the historic centre of the city of Venice, very close to the highly frequented Campo Ss. Apostoli, in Calle del Manganer.
The location’s name refers to the road where it is situated. The so-called “Manganeri” were the artisans who used to refine satin and wool textiles to make their surfaces smooth.
The location is at 4 min walk (350m), with no bridges, from the ferry station Ca’ D’Oro, 7 min walk (550m) from Fondamenta Nove and at 9 min walk (650m) from Rialto. For any transport by boat, the closest shore is Rio dei Santi Apostoli, at 80 m from the location.
Description:
The Spazio Eventi Manganer is a newly renovated large exhibition space of ca. 90 msq which comprises a big rectangular room (room 1) of ca. 65 msq, a smaller lateral room (room 2) of ca. 10 msq and a restroom.
The location’s renovation was directed by the architect Alessandra Pirani and it aimed to preserve and valorise the existing architectural elements in the exhibition space. Such as the old brick walls, the wooden timber ceiling (2,96m height) and the Venetian flooring tiles (masegni) where found.
During the location’s renovation we found and brought to light an antique wooden timber originally from a Venetian boat of the 1300, a column in red marble of Verona with a capitello in Istria’s stone and two old wooden doors with their original fittings.
The location is functional and versatile. It comprises a new flexible track lighting system with movable spotlights to address the user's ever-changing needs and activities, high speed Wi-fi connection and a heating/cooling system.
